books are cool but i never tried a kindle. and i dont know abotu rotting paper smell or w/e it is some of you're into, but old books are cool and an old kindle probably just wouldnt work. what's not to like about digital shit is the way things become incompatible and break in digital ways

Anyway, prices are higher because the local publishing industry is protected from competition. There were plans to change this but it'd kill the local industry overnight, as foreign publishers could just dump unsold stock from the UK and North America into the Australian market.
