Also, just for the curious, is you had gone right instead of left in the previous mission, you would have had no forced encounters. If you had chosen to investigate some interesting trees, you would have fought a hippogriff and, with some good skill checks, gotten a hippogriff egg.

While in Aleph, Red was approached by a rabbi from his temple with a job to investigate some taint. The taint, specifically, being found in a mysterious cave to the west. Red and company agreed to do it, but before they could leave a band of trolls invaded the town, busting through the east gate. A mysterious and powerful female rogue, Alyssa Wallace, helped the party fight off the troll marauders.

The party headed to the cave. They encountered a black bear which they successfully scared off by making loud noises and breathing fire at it. The cave was filled with an evil aura that caused our good-aligned heroes to become shaken. Inside, a powerful skeleton awaited, which the party made short work of. Lightbunny's bismuth crystal found a hidden room inside that contained a menacing black orb sitting atop an altar. Removing the orb weakened the evil energy inside the cave slightly. Exiting the room, the party was ambushed by an ogre that nearly bashed pwb's skull in, but the party once again prevailed. To the west, they found another evil orb and removed it, further diminishing the cave's taint and causing red and foxx to recover from their fear. However, in doing so Kingpun was hit by a poison dart trap, but was able to fight off the poison. A section of the cave is now explored, but the evil taint remains...
